A Different Kind of Strategic Mind.
ABOUT CHRIS STYLES
Executive. Scientist. Researcher. Advisor.
Chris Styles has spent more than three decades working in environments where judgement, people and decisions carry real consequences.
His career has taken him from scientific research and international conservation to senior leadership within some of South Africa’s largest financial institutions; from organisational transformation and executive advisory to more than a decade of original research into patterns, timing and human decision-making.
Today, those seemingly different worlds come together through The Human Futurist and his work with a deliberately small number of Private IMB Advisory clients.
“I am an intensely curious mind, searching for deeper answers.”
Scientist → Conservationist → Banking Executive → Advisor → Researcher → Human Futurist
THE EXECUTIVE
Experience & Judgement
Three decades of leadership, transformation and advisory experience bring commercial reality and consequence to every conversation.
THE SCIENTIST
Curiosity & Enquiry
Trained as a scientist, Chris brings an instinct to observe, question assumptions and search for what others may have overlooked.
THE RESEARCHER
Pattern & Foresight
More than 20,000 hours of independent research led to the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint — an additional lens on pattern, timing, risk and opportunity.
THE THREAD THAT CONNECTS IT ALL
Chris originally trained as a scientist.
He completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in zoology, botany and applied ecology, developing an analytical foundation built around observation, evidence, systems and the search for relationships that may not immediately be obvious.
That way of thinking never left him. The instinct to observe. To question. To challenge assumptions. To look for the variable others may have overlooked. To recognise structure within apparently disconnected information.
And, above all, to keep asking: Why? It is the thread that has run throughout his career.

THE QUESTION THAT CHANGED THE DIRECTION
What If There Was Another Variable?
In 2017, Chris began investigating recurring numerical patterns within human experience.
What started as an intriguing observation became a sustained programme of independent enquiry, mapping patterns across individual timelines and examining their relationship with periods of change, challenge, opportunity and decision-making.
One question led to another. The research grew. More than 20,000 hours later, that enquiry has become the:
Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint. The IMB gives Chris an additional analytical lens through which to examine pattern, timing, risk and opportunity. Not instead of experience, evidence or professional expertise. Alongside them.
ACADEMIC RESEARCH
Taking the Question Further
Chris subsequently took the IMB into postgraduate research at Bournemouth University.
His proposed doctoral research sought to investigate aspects of the framework formally — including whether IMBs could identify significant historical life-shaping events with greater-than-random accuracy.
Importantly, the research was designed to allow for either outcome.
The purpose was not to prove an assumption. It was to investigate a question.
Research before assertion.
The executive understands the decision. The scientist interrogates the evidence. The researcher sees the pattern. The advisor helps the client decide what to do with it.
PRIVATE CLIENT PERSPECTIVE
The Advisor Behind the Framework
“The combination of excellence in his area of specialisation, his executive-level business experience and his sharp and enquiring mind will continue to bring immense value to all who have the opportunity to work with him.”

THE HUMAN FUTURIST
Where the Different Worlds Converge
Today, Chris brings these different perspectives together through Private IMB Advisory.
He works personally with a maximum of ten Core Private Advisory clients, founders, executives, investors and private principals navigating decisions of consequence.
The relationship is deliberately long-term, allowing Chris to understand not only the client’s Blueprint, but their circumstances, ambitions, responsibilities and evolving decision landscape.
It creates something occasional consultation rarely can:
Strategic memory.
When circumstances change, Chris doesn’t have to rediscover the context.
He is already inside it.
Chris does not believe good advisory means telling intelligent people what to do.
It means helping them see more before they decide.

*Private IMB Advisory is limited to a maximum of ten Core Private Advisory clients. Applications are considered personally and engagement is subject to mutual fit and availability.
